If you grew up in the Tees Valley anything since the 1940’s you’ll probably know R Clarke and Sons Butchers. It was a successful family business with a fantastic reputation for providing excellent service and high-quality produce – all at a very fair price.
We have continued in that tradition and expanded from the old butchers shop to meet the changing needs of our customers, but we’ve never shifted from our guiding principles of service, quality, and price. We still cook and prepare in the original premises where the Clarke family lived and worked but our offering has expanded with the focus on creating innovative, fresh food for the people of the North East from business lunches, events catering, on-the-go vans, and wholesale sandwiches. Of course, you can still buy directly from us where we have a thriving business with hundreds of regular customers every day.
Our food is freshly prepared each day at our premises in Teesside and the ovens are on every morning at 5am cooking the joints of meat.
We are proud of our food and all our meats are home cooked and locally sourced just a couple of miles from the shop. All of our other products are made in-house using the finest and freshest local ingredients available, for example, we make our own freshly produced pease pudding (our specialty) and by cutting up a huge sack of onions every week we make our own stuffing!
Our food is prepared to the highest standards, under strict controls, to ensure that it arrives in the best possible condition for you to enjoy. We pride ourselves on our 5 Stars award for Food Hygiene warded by Stockton Borough Council upon inspection.
Our shop is based in Billingham, with the convenience of the shop being so close enables to have excellent backup facilities should we require extra food supplies or need staff at short notice.
